11-9-20   THOUGHTS

Ps 107:1-2a    Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting. 2
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,

Excerpts from Psalm 71...  Verses 14-19 were used yesterday in the sermon.  We will expand that context a bit this morning.
Ps 71:3 Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.
Ps 71:8  My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long. 9  Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
Ps 71:14-19      But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more. 15  My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them. 16  I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone. 17  O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds. 18  And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come. 19  For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?
Ps 71:23   My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.

Ps 78:2-8   I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old, 3  Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.  4  We will not conceal them from their children, But tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. 5  For He established a testimony in Jacob And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers That they should teach them to their children, 6  That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, That they may arise and tell them to their children, 7  That they should put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments, 8  And not be like their fathers, A stubborn and rebellious generation, A generation that did not prepare its heart And whose spirit was not faithful to God.
Read Deut 6:4-9.
Song:  “If the name of the Savior is precious to you...”   “Oh Will You Not Tell It Today?”

My Prayer:
Oh Lord, help us to praise your great name in every place.  May our hands and our lips be glory to your presence on this earth.  As we have believed, may we speak Oh God.  Revive our spirits Lord.  It is you and only you that matters in this world our Father.  Help us to choose that good part, which shall not be taken away from us.

In Jesus name                    Amen
